Brampton Manor Academy, a state school in East London, received more Oxbridge offers than Eton College this year.
55 pupils secured places, compared to Eton’s 48.
The school set up its sixth form in 2012 with the aim of getting more disadvantaged pupils into leading universities.
Most of the school’s pupils come from black and ethnic minority backgrounds, receive free school meals or will be the first in their family to go to university.
I hope this encourages all of you to consider Oxford Uni. These pupils have shown it is possible!
Huge congratulations to everyone who received offers and we look forward to welcoming you in October!
