Oxford Opening Up

By Tilly Rose

So exciting that retail and outdoor hospitality has now opened up and we can finally get out and about in Oxford! If you're looking for some al fresco cafes and restaurants to explore in the Dreaming Spires, here are some of my top-picks:

This lovely little café is part of University Church of St Mary, the building from which Oxford Uni first began. The outdoor seating overlooks the stunning Radcliffe Square, making you feel like you're sipping on your tea in a sort of fairy tale landscape. Ideal for a slice of homemade cake and coffee in the sun.

If you're feeling like treating yourself, look no further than the most Instagrammable spot in the city. The inside of this buzzing restaurant is dripping with wisteria but for now, the outdoor roof terrace offers impressive panoramic views of the Dreaming Spires. Perfect for a cocktail, glass of bubbly and sushi platter to while away an afternoon.

Now is the time to explore Jericho, with its eclectic mix of colourful restaurants, cafes and shops. This quirky side of the city is home to Branca, with a gorgeous terrace garden offering a menu of fresh, bold Italian flavours. Their courtyard is an absolute sun trap!

Their roof terrace is the perfect spot for outdoor drinks. With stunning 360 views of Oxford, heaters, heated seats and cosy blankets, they have got your covered when those evenings get a little cooler.

Nestled in the back streets of the city, the Bear is a quaint little pub which has been serving Oxford since 1242. With outdoor seating often bathed in sunlight, ideal for beer and wine lovers alike!
