Lincoln College

Lincoln is another of the Turl Street colleges and, despite only being over the road, I didn't visit it until the Turl Street Arts Festival. The colleges all did a hall swap and I was lucky enough to dine in their beautiful 15th century hall. It was a pretty great experience!

The college was founded by Richard Fleming, Bishop of Lincoln, in 1427. It's only small but that's definitely part of its charm.

It's made of of roughly equal numbers of grads and undergrads which makes for a diverse student body.

Undergrads have the option to live in college rooms for the whole of their course which in my eyes is the absolute dream. When would you ever get to live somewhere this beautiful again and in such a prime location?

It's Lincoln's library though that's the most impressive of all; you literally walk in and just think wow!

Notable alumni include: John le Carré (novelist), Emily Mortimer (actress) and Stephanie Cook (2000 Sydney Olympic Games gold medallist in the first Women's Olympic Modern Pentathlon).
