Exeter College

Despite history dictating a long-standing rivalry between Jesus and Exeter, I've always had a soft spot for it. Far from being enemies, we actually had friends over the road which meant it was somewhere we visited quite frequently in first year.

Exeter is the fourth oldest college, founded in 1314. It's well known for its stunning Chapel, tranquil Fellows' Garden and gorgeous terrace offering breathtaking views of Radcliffe Square.

It also offers food and accommodation on the main site for all First Years and some Third Years which, as I've mentioned in previous posts, is certainly a perk!

With dinners to celebrate Burns Night, Thanksgiving, Diwali and Chinese New Year, Exeter proves that Oxford isn't all work and no play.

And the college even helps students out with post-uni life, with its own careers and internship office to guide them as they leave the Oxford bubble!

Notable alumni include: J.R.R Tolkein, Philip Pulman and Alan Bennett.
