Bat Out of Hell - New Theatre, Oxford

By Tilly Rose

Live theatre is back...with a bang!

At last night's opening of Bat Out of Hell at the New Theatre, Oxford the auditorium was buzzing and when Kellie Gnauk burst onto stage with her powerful opening monologue the atmosphere was palpable.

This is far from your traditional show, with modern choreography, innovative cinematics and edgy costumes, at times I felt like I was watching a quirky art installation unfold and at others, felt like I was at a rock 'n' roll gig.

This musical spectacular blends a loose retelling of Peter Pan, with the music of Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf. There are so many memorable tunes along the way and at the end of show, a standing ovation of electrified audience members showed the impact of the truly talented cast. We were blown away by their voices and when they got everyone up and dancing for one final song, you could feel the energy in the room.

On until Saturday 16th October you do not want to miss this: https://www.atgtickets.com/shows/bat-out-of-hell/new-theatre-oxford/
