Jesus College

Jesus is highly renowned as one of the friendliest colleges in Oxford and, being only small, you can be sure to always bump into a friendly face as you cross the quad each day.

It was founded in 1571, under the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, making it the only Elizabethan College within the University.

Students tend to live in during their first year in the beautiful 16th century buildings where they can literally hop from their bedroom, to hall, to the JCR and library.

It's situated on Turl Street, right in the hub of the city centre meaning it's only a short cycle away from the libraries, faculties, cafes and shops.

The college holds a strong Welsh connection which it celebrates with pride!

Notable old members include: Lawrence of Arabia and Harold Wilson (Prime Minister 1964-70, 1974-76)!
