Oxfordshire Living

'The world surely has not another place like Oxford; it is a despair to see such a place and ever to leave it, for it would take a lifetime and more than one to comprehend and enjoy it satisfactorily.’ Nathaniel Hawthorne

I certainly agree with Hawthorne. However much time I spend in Oxford, there are always magical new spots which take me by surprise but not all of you have a lifetime to whist away in the ‘Dreaming Spires’, so this term I’m collaborating with ‘Oxfordshire Living’ to give you the ultimate 24 hours in Oxford!

Let's go...

First of all, we’ll check in to our delightful Oxfordshire Living apartment.

Located right in the city centre within the Oxford Castle Quarter, we’ll get to experience living like a local in this beautiful city. The apartments ooze luxury whilst remaining super comfy, the perfect place to chill out in between our jam-packed night away.

Once we’ve unpacked and delved into the complimentary ‘Welcome’ hamper at the apartment (yes, Vanessa from Oxfordshire Living is the dream hostess!) we’ll wander out into the city.

A stone’s throw away from the shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, colleges and must-see sights, we won’t have to walk for long before we come across stop number one!

Stop number 1️⃣ - Coffee & Brunch at the Turl Street Kitchen to fuel us for the day.

Stop number 2️⃣ - We'll step back in time into stunning Radcliffe Square, the Bodleian Libraries, Divinity School and Bridge of Sighs - perfect for a wander or even a guided tour.

Stop number 3️⃣- St Mary’s Tower - we'll climb to the top for spectacular views of the 'Dreaming Spires' form above.

Stop number 4️⃣ - Covered Market is an assault on the senses, bursting with classic Oxford independents and the ideal spot for a quick snack.

Stop number 5️⃣- Now for a little culture, we'll browse the endless fascinating exhibitions on offer in the Ashmolean.

Stop number 6️⃣- No.1 Ship Street for a quintessentially British afternoon tea...yes please!

Now it's time to head back to the apartment, whack on a bit of Netflix, chill in the lounge, maybe even a little power nap...

Feel like heading out? There are so many rooftop restaurants in the Westgate Oxford on our doorstep, a taste sensation awaits!

Feel tired after a big day of walking? Yes, I know the feeling. My friend and I ordered in a delicious takeaway from Pho which we enjoyed in the comfort of the lovely Oxfordshire Living apartment.

Then makeup on, quick change and time for a few drinks...

Stop number 7️⃣- unreal cocktails at OXO Bar!

Back to our super comfy bed for a delightful sleep...

Next morning - A delightful alfresco breakfast on the balcony, overlooking the Oxford castle!

Then we cannot ignore the amazing shopping centre a couple of minute's walk away...serious retail therapy awaits!

Stop number8️⃣-

Westgate Centre to shop until we drop!

Stop number 9️⃣- College tour - Christ Church, Worcester & Magdalen are must-sees

Stop number 1️⃣0️⃣- The Handle Bar - live like a local in this buzzing student spot, with walls covered in quintessentially Oxford bikes!

Then time to head home and realise that yes, Nathaniel Hawthorne was right...24 hours is certainly not enough time to touch on what this city has to offer but we’ve had a blast! I guess we’ll have to book into Oxfordshire Living and return for another stay in the city soon...
