Sparkle, glitz and glam...three words which pretty much summed up our 'That Oxford Girl' student ambassador event at Space NK last night!
As we walked through the door, the beautifully organised shop was warm and inviting, the Christmas music was playing and the champagne was flowing.
After a little bit of mingling and a mooch around the shop, the demonstrations began. Two of Space NK's makeup artists gave us a Christmas sparkle masterclass, focusing on how to perfect your glittery eye shadow. Next up was the skin expert from Caudalie, who impressed us all with her fab gadget which, with a quick flicker over your skin, gave a detailed insight into the sort of regime that was perfect for your personal skin type. Finally, a little insight into the hair care products on offer and then came the really fun bit...trying them all out!
I find that often when you go into a store to try out makeup, you end up only trying one brand and end up being persuaded to make a quick purchase without shopping around. I was really impressed with the vast range of brands Space NK offered; you knew they weren't just trying to sell you one particular product which wasn't necessarily right for you - each consultation was super personal. They also offer free samples for you to take away and free makeovers without any pressure to purchase which means you can
have time to reflect on which products really work for you.
The student ambassadors spent the rest of the evening enjoying skin consultations, testing our hair products and having makeovers - everyone looked fab - we should have arranged a post-event party to show off our new looks!
We left with a gorgeous goodie bag in hand, full of products which we're all really excited to try out!
The staff were lovely and the whole evening was a huge success; I will definitely be returning to Space NK and would highly recommend it for a pre-ball makeover when ball season arrives at Oxford Uni!
